Thursday night my parents called to tell me that the local fire company was having their annual carnival. They were babysitting my two nephews and planned to take them down Friday night and wanted to know if Sarah would like to go along.
Of course what child wound not want to go ride the rides and overindulge in some good old fashioned and greasy carnival food, so we quickly acceppted the invitation. As soon as I mentioned it to Sarah, she started to jump up and down and said.......Can I ride the big ferris wheel?
Unfortunately {or fortunately, depending on how you look at it} Sarah did not ride the Ferris Wheel. I think their version of the ferris wheel was a little too wild and daunting for a three year old {and for her Mommy}, so we had kindly talked her out of it.
She didn't miss a beat though, because there was plenty of other rides more her "size".....and mine too:)
The kids had a fun night.....and so did we. Watching their expressions was just priceless........I am so happy I brought the camera. These are the kind of childhood memories that will last a lifetime!!

What a fun spontaneous thing to do. And, great capture with all the photos!!! I think Ferris Wheels are scarier than any roller coaster. I give her an A for bravery and wanting to get on one!!
What a fun night on the town! It looks like the kids had a blast! Cute pictures!
Hope you have a great week!
Welcome summer!! Great pictures, looks like the kids had a great time!
Have a great week

I'm glad you brought it too...love the one where she is talking to her cousin looks like she is telling him how to drive. Great shots...love the B&W one.
Darling photos! Looks like a shoot from Parent magazine. Wonderful job!
What a perfect day. A perfect post and of course...perfect pictures! Man I wish I could just take one picture that was half as good as yours!
I LOVE the first and last one!
Great pics my friend!! It looks they had an awesome time!!
Love ya!
That's one of my favorite thinsg about summers - all the carnivals and festivals that come into town! Good thing that Sarah didn't go on the ferris wheel! As much as I love carnivals, sometimes the rides look a little unsteady, even for a grown-up like me! I just stick to the yummy funnel cake and cotton candy for kicks :)
how fun!!!! our kiddos love going to the local county fair every year ... and it's fun seeing it from their fun perspective as well!
have a great week!
what a great night out on the town. you always do the best stuff. I love the look on your daughters face. pure joy. you have to love the wide eyed fun of childhood
So much FUN!!! Great photos too! THose faces Sarah is making are priceless! You sure did capture the moments! Love the B/W photo...very nostalgic being done in B/W!!
What fun!! Cool photos!! The ferris wheel makes me very nervous! My Mom once got stuck on the top!!! Yikes!
Hope you have a great week!

Exactly Lisa....somtimes it's a drag to lug around the equipment but in the end, always worth it because of the wonderful moments captured that will be part of the tapestry of their/our lives.
What a great night - love the pictures and the way you display them here with the narrative. Really great!
Happy Monday!

Gorgeous! I LOVE the way these are processed. Truly they are big FAVES!!!
How fun are these?!?!? Love them all, the colors are just so yummy. Looks like the kiddos had a great time.
Have a great week!!
What fun!! I love little town carnivals and of course love your pictures too!!
Mind if I gush? K. Seriously - these photos are outstanding! I love the way you've posted them and composed the whole thing - I love the captions and just absolutely everything about it all. Oh, and your kids are so cute and so photogenic - you are amazing. Wow.
What a fun night, shown excellently through your pics! I can't wait for you to share your wonderful editing skills with me...have a super week~
what fun...and wonderful pics....we stopped going to carnivals because they were so expensive (with 6 or so kids). I stopped by to participate in your b&w wednesdays...and started reading thru your blog...what a journey you've had...glad your sharing it with us!
love these photos, made me feel really nostalgic.
and i have tears in my eyes listening to this song on your site! (one i've had on mine many times). it is Ellis' most favorite song ever. for the first 4-5 months together, minimum, she'd have to hear it a couple times a day. Sometimes I just sing it to her :) It's that well memorized!
Great photos! Briana would have LOVED going to that carnival. I tell ya, Sarah and Briana are two peas in a pod. Briana was too short to go on the Ferris Wheel at the fair and she cried and cried. Little daredevils! I love it!
awesome photos. Looks like a blast. I can not wait for the county fair to get here. I always get great photos!
How fun! And great photos. Your daughter has beautiful eyes. All 3 kiddos are adorable.
WOW! Amazing fabulous memories and photo's!
You are pure genius behind the lens!
Jill

Oh, how I love Sarah's funny face on the right... is she thinking? did she just suck on a lemon? is she filled with consternation? heh. Classic!
Now that looks like some fantastic fun! LOVE it! Love the pictures.
oh I love these photos! Sarah looks totally excited. You will always cherish these special times :)
I cannot wait until we get settled and I can take some of your classes - I love what you do to these photos (rounded corners, writing at the bottom etc) You are amazing!
Great memories captured in your signature style, Lisa.
I love the scrapbook feel of this post...really pretty and so fun and whimsical to go with the carnival theme.
My kids are begging to go to the one that just opened near here in a parking lot off the highway....I keep driving in different directions to circumvent their view of it....arrrghghhhh....son't know if I will be successful...fun for them...yes, greasy and expensive for us...FOR SURE!
Beautiful memories!
Those are my fav pics! I love all the colors, the faces, adorable! Did they partake in cotton candy to wrap up the fun night?!?
xo L
Looks like they had a blast! Ellie has that same sweet white flower bow too! Love it!!! : )
Hi Lisa.
I don't know how I've missed your blog before but it looks like you and I could be good friends. :)
I have twin girls from China, a serious Matilda Jane addiction and a passion for photography.
I also lost a very close friend to Ovarian Cancer. How amazing, awesome, wonderful that you beat what is such an insidious disease.
