After years and years of waiting and wondering when or if this adoption was ever going to happen. I believe we are in the final months (possibly weeks) of our wait!!
For so long I could not bring myself to buy anything or make any attempt to get a room ready. I am still not quite there, but I have begun to go through the bins I have been storing in our basement for the past three years.
I saved all of my favorite things! They grow so fast{especially those first two years} and most of the clothes and shoes look like new. Actually, I do have a handful of things that still have tags on them because Sarah grew too fast or the season changed before she actually fit into them.
Anyway, as I was browsing through the 12 month bin, I found these........
.....little black patent leather loafers!! They were, and still are, my most favorite shoes that Sarah has ever worn!! Even though you can't tell in this picture, they are teeny tiny. The shoes are a brand called Trumpette and they are usually carried in specialty baby boutiques. These were given to Sarah as a gift by one of my very best friends and every time I look at them I think of her:)
Whenever Sarah wore them, someone always stopped me to ask me where I bought them!! They are so super cute and kind of stylish and the little rubber grippies on the bottom added comfort and support so she would not slip when she walked!!
She didn't wear them very long before her little feet outgrew them, so I packed the shoes away and prayed that someday I would bring them out again for our next little girl.
Two weeks ago, I pulled them out and dusted them off. They are now sitting on my desk here in the office. They are a constant reminder of what is yet to come for us!! "She" is never far from my thoughts..... in fact "she" is ALWAYS on my mind.
The last few weeks I have come to the realization that this IS going to happen for us. We are going to see her face and she will be coming home!!! I can't begin to tell you how that makes me feel. Anxious, Nervous, and Excited......all rolled up into one!!
I am on the edge of my seat just waiting for the latest information or any indication of when we will get "the call"
It is all so exciting and I am finding it most difficult to focus as the anticipation continues to build!
When I stated this blog two years ago, it was to chronicle our journey, and that is what I fully intend to do........ you will all be with us every "step" of the way:)

Big, happy tears are rolling down my cheeks. I think I've been holding my breath, waiting for you to actually be at this very last step of the most amazing adventure I can imagine.
Sarah's shoes are so precious - I love how you feel about them. We have a little pair of black sneakers that Daddy still keeps on his desk - Size 2.
I'm just so thrilled to see this happening for you Lisa - and I love that we can share in it. Thank you!
Huge kisses!
Tears - so excited for your family and for the little one who will soon have a new family to love her.
I can't wait until you have the experience of "the call" I know you've been through it with Sarah, but you've waited so long for this one...the anticipation...praying it comes soon for you and all those who are waiting.
It is really so exciting to think that she is born now. Heck, she could just be a couple of month old right now, learning to roll over. She doesn't know that half a world away, there is a darling family who will love her and change her forever!!! I am so excited to ride this journey with you, Lis! xoxo
We're almost there. I'm looking forward to your journey almost as much as I'm looking forward to mine. :)
