We have two days under our belts at the new daycare and I have to say that although it has been especially hard on Reagan(and Mommy), Sarah is doing exceptionally well.
She was a little shy on day one and refused to eat any snacks or meals, but it appears that she has already made an impression on her new classmates and teacher.
We walked into her classroom this morning and two of the girls came running over and said, "YAY, Sarah is back!" and with that, Sarah ran over and began to play with them and gave me a wave goodbye as if to say, "It's Okay Mom, you can leave now."
At 5pm when I arrived after work to pick them up, Sarah was in tears.......
She asked me if I could come back later, she needed to stay longer to play with her new friends.
Her teacher told me that she has been attracting a lot of attention from her classmates and that she was having to break up arguments between the girls over who gets to sit next to Sarah for each activity. She actually ate her lunch and snacks today and they said that she really loved tumble time!
When I heard what the teacher had to say about her day, it made my heart smile.
Sarah is fitting right into her new environment and seems to be loving every minute of it.
We are very proud of her and each night when she comes home, she can't wait to tell us about everything that she did throughout the day.
I'm starting to feel like things really do happen for a reason and this is an environment where Sarah will really thrive and blossom.
I did manage to snap a few photos of the girls on their first day.....just have not had time to download them yet. I hope to post them this weekend and I will give an update on Reagan's first few days. Today is actually her first Speech Therapy session. We are very excited that they moved so quickly to get her started.
This photo was taken earlier this week as Sarah was riding her big wheel out back on the deck. She stopped and looked me dead in the eye. I love that chunk of hair that is framing her face, those beautiful baby blues.......and that smile that could light up any room! It's hard to believe she is going to be five in just a few months.
Where does the time go?
Have a wonderful weekend!

She is just perfectly lovely...the word 'radiant' comes to mind. You can see so much of who she is through her eyes! Incredible shot Lisa. :)
So happy she's doing well with the change and Reagan will be following suit too (pretty soon).

She looks so wise beyond her years. Like she's lived a life way bigger than most kids her age. She is really beautiful!
Mama.....during those long days of the Hurricane you didn't need a backup generator...you have the 50,000 amp right there!!!!

Love, love, love this picture of Sarah! I especially love how her hair frames her face! So cute!
I also believe that everything happens for a reason. It sounds like you found the perfect place for the girls to learn and grow! I bet Reagan eventually loves it too!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Lovely pic of Sarah and so glad she is enjoying nursery!!

That picture is PERFECT. She is just gorgeous!
Glad the new daycare is going well for Sarah. It will make her transition to Kindergarten so much easier:)
Reagan will adjust; she will grow to love it too. It is probably especially hard for her since you just had so long at home together. She just needs to get in the routine and realize you will ALWAYS be coming back for her:)
STUNNING! Absolutely stunning!
That's an amazing photo Lisa! Sarah is such a beauty! I'm so glad all is going well for her in her new setting. I'm praying that this week is a better one for you and Reagan...many hugs to you all!
Sarah is such a beautiful girl! I am so happy to hear she is doing well!
You seem like such a warm and caring mother. Do you think your daughter is just too young for a large day care center? When my middle daughter was 2 we tried daycare and it was a disaster. She was terrified. She went to pre-school part time when she was 3and excelled. Perhaps a home based day care with only a few children and more one on one attention will be a good solution. Whatever your decision I know it will be the right one as you know your daughter best. You have beautiful children!
Oh, I hope Sarah is continuing to do so well! I'm not surprised! So sorry to hear the transition has been hard on Reagan..praying next week is much better!
