The local gymnastics training center held an "open gym" for ages 1 through 7 last weekend so I decided to take the girls to see if they might want to give it a try. This is the same gymnastics center that I attended when I was 6. They have been around for a LONG TIME and over the years they have produced some really amazing athletes..... a handful even went on to become part of the US Olympic Team.
As soon as we entered the gym, the girls became eager to break free and run about.
Luckily, Nick agreed to spend a few hours helping me with the girls because I really needed his extra set of hands. Reagan and Sarah each had their own agenda from the moment they stepped foot on the floor and there was no way I could have kept up with the two of them by myself.
Reagan really enjoyed the balance beam..... we started her out floor level and then worked our way up to the one that was a few feet off the ground.
Sarah had no fear whatsoever. She was game to try anything and everything. I have never seen her like this. When she reached the front of the line for the uneven bars, I half expected her to say she was afraid and she didn't want to try it, but she listened intently as the coach told her what to do and she went for it......each and every time.
The place was PACKED.... there were kids and adults everywhere, but it did not seem to bother either one of the girls. They were having a blast tumbling around on the mats.....
and working their way across the monkey bars.
After Sunday's little expedition, I can say without a doubt, that both of girls would really enjoy doing this on a regular basis.
The next semester of classes is about to begin and guess who will be sportin cute little leotards each Saturday morning for the next 12 weeks?
They can barely wait.... and I have to admit, I am kind of pumped too!
Speaking of classes, I have to run. I finished work early today and I am headed out to pick up Nick and take him to the High School he will be attending next year. We are registering him and selecting his courses for Freshman Year. Exciting times for everyone in this house!!!
Will update later. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Adorable! Can't wait to see them in leotards ; ) . Good luck at the high school. We've attended several high school meetings this year so far. Are they really going to be 9th graders?! Seriously?!
Awww, they are going to love gymnastics so much! I miss taking Bri each week. :(
Oh Lisa, what fun!! Hannah has been in gymnastics for the past year and still gets excited each Saturday when it's time for 'nastics!' Sounds like your club is a great one!
A couple of the gals at Hannah's gym will be competing for the Canadian Olympic team in London this summer so I must admit there are times when my eyes wander from where H is walking on the beam to the other end of the gym where the Olympic competitors are training.
Aren't kids amazing....they dont have any fear of trying something new!
SO cute!
The girls are gonna love it! Bre took ballet classes last year and while she got "bored" during practices *and sometimes express her desire not to go* she was PUMPED for recital time. Due to conflicting times schedules this year w/ballet classes I opted for gymnastics/tumbling for Bre. Oh.my.gosh. this is truly her passion! She would go everyday if she could. I'm telling you the moment we pull up, she is off to the races, and taking off her gym pants and shoes and turns cartwheels across the WHOLE floor! It's like SHE can't contain herself any longer! She takes it Mon/Wed 5:30-6:45 and starting next month she will advance! This child is NOT afraid of anything as well! She LOVES every moment of it! I hear her instructor tells her often "Bre, I have to hold on to you, you can't do it alone"! She think she is a GOLD MEDALIST seriously!! :) I love to see her climb the rope that goes way up to the ceiling!! She climbs almost to the top and she screams to me "MOM!!! Look at me, I'm wayyyy up here"! Yeah...me and the instructor are biting our nails the WHOLE time!! It's perfect for my strong-willed, high-spirited girl! We have truly found her passion! I love the way you captured the girls in the gym. I have found the lighting HORRIBLE in the gym she attends! Maybe if I attempt to break this camera in, I will learn all these neat "picture taking" stuff!! I know, I know...stop talking and get to clicking!!
What a fun afternoon! The girls are going to have loads of fun this spring! Kamree always tumbles into fall and she loves it!
Okay. Seriously? The Parkettes?! Dang you're lucky!! I was a collegiate gymnast so the minute I saw your post I was excited to hear all about your experience!
I am looking forward to seeing photos of your two little gymnasts!!
Oh and we had to pick classes for our rising 9 th grader last week! Boohoo say it isn't true!

Chloe loves her Gym class! I am sure the girls will love it too, enjoy!
So cute! I think my girls will be adding Gym to their schedules in the fall. Gracie was born to be in a gym :)
Looks like you're about to have 2 little gymnasts!! Love both of their expressions in these.
xoxo
I am sure they will love it!!! How awesome that Sarah was so comfortable there already. And I love seeing Nick be a big helper. Will and Harry are like that too, especially Harry. Kate wants to do gymnastics too but she already does violin, ballet and Judo so there is not really time. I think she will do some gymnastics summer camps though.
Have a great weekend, Lisa!
Oh and can you believe our boys will be in HGH SCHOOL?! We are still waiting to see where Will is accepted and where we want to send him next year. Time is just zipping by!
