While we were on the Cape this weekend, it snowed here in PA.
Other than a slight coating on Christmas Eve, it was the first real snow that has come our way.
New Year's Day was our first day back home and was the last day of our Christmas break so we had declared it a PJ day.
We were all going to enjoy our last day together as a family.
Reags found her way to the "ballet bag" where we keep leotards, tights, and skirts for dress up. She is known to come home from school and change into her "ballerina" attire within minutes of walking through the door. She loves them, so I did not think twice when I saw her do it on Tuesday..... but then, she put on her hat, gloves, scarf, and rain boots and sat at the window looking at the snow!
It was SO SO cold and I could not believe that she wanted to go outside to play, but she said she did. I told her that she needed to put warm clothes on her before she could go out and she downright refused to let me put pants on her, so...
I opened the back door and let her go out on the porch in her skirt assuming she would feel the cold air and come running in for her pants.
Well I assumed wrong....
She played and danced around out there as happy as could be!
I must have asked her 10 times, "Reags honey, are you cold? why don't we put some pants on your legs"
"No Mommy, I am fine, I no like pants"
She lasted about 20 minutes before she decided it was time to come in and warm up!
Oh this child..... she has a mind of her own and at times, and there is no reasoning with her.
We sailed through the "twos"..... there was nothing "terrible about two".
Three on the other hand? Let's just say, she is testing the waters with us.
Looking back, both Sarah and Nick were like this at three, I guess you just forget the stages until you are going through them again.
Even when our Spicy girl is testing us, I cannot help but giggle on the inside.
She is about as tough and determined as they come:)

And she is CUTE as a Button!! LOl!
Cute!
Three is the new two I've been told!
You need to get a video of her talking- I would love to hear it!!! Milo just started his "speaking boom." He talks all the time now- come to think of it, I need to get a video of him too!! :) Happy Friday! Have fun in the snow!
she is just practicing for her future figuring skating career :) I've often wondered if figure skaters get cold legs :)
Adorable, although I'm freezing just looking at them!
Absolutely adorable!!! Let them be little. Great job being a fun mommy.
I love this post and your adorable little 3 year old. She just lights up the page.
I am joining you this year for "Favourite Friday Photos". Thanks for the inspiration!!
Sometimes it is so hard to give them the freedom they need, but boys is it so important. Have a great weekend!
She's so funny and sweet!! I always thought the 3s were harder than the 2s too!!
Happy Weekend!!

Lisa,
I discovered your blog through some new friends I have met online. Your family is beautiful as is your story.
I am loving your photography. The vivid colors are stunning! I also shoot with a Canon. What lens are you using? Do you use Lightroom? Sorry for the questions, but your lasted post just took my breath away!!!
Cheryl
These are ADORABLE (as usual) but I am totally giggling. My youngest is that way. The child is never cold & would have done the same thing. Yes- we had the same thing with all the kids- 2 was a breeze compared to 3.
I LOVE these kind of photos and posts that reallt tell a story about the child at that point in their life. You are so good with photojournaling, Lisa. I get Reags. Kate "no liked" pants either and she did not wear them for a LONG time. Thank God it is not too cold here. She also has a mind of her own sometimes and 3 was TOUGH. To this day, Kate is easy peasy laid back 98% of the time. Seriously, a dream. BUt man of man when she does get defiant or upset the fit is HUGE. I struggle and so does Dave cause it is so differnt than what we are used to.
Hugs and happy new year!!!
adorable! I would have to say it is in her genes - right? She likely did run about as a baby with her bottom out (split pants and nary a diaper for babes in China)
Cheryl,
Thank you.
I don't mind answering the questions at all!
I shoot with a Canon 5d mark iii and for this series I used my 50mm f1.2. I typically "label" my posts, so at the very bottom of each individual post, you will see key words. I have started to include the lens I used for each series. So if you ever want to know, look there and you will see the info.
I think she and Kendall would get along fabulously! Twos were crazy here, the threes, I don't even want to think about:) Happy New Year.
Tiffany
The half years were tough for me. 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 were tough tough tough. Seriously, aren't you glad she has spunk? Who want to raise a woman who doesn't have a mind of her own??
So fun! I love her outfit. :)
She is supercute! :D
And she is just as cute as can be! I love the bright colors she's wearing against the white snow. Have a lovely weekend Lisa!
About as darling as can be! My knees ached for her, but I guess she knows what she wants!
How can you stand it...she is just so precious!
sWEET PHOTOS...ALWAYS LOVE PHOTOS OF YOUR KIDDOS
information is good
as always..FANTASTIC photos! Your babies are beautiful & your pictures are AMAZING! Happy New Year!
I so admire how you can just grab your camera and take thee most beautiful photos of the most wonderful moments of your children!!! Reags looks sooooooo adorable in her "winter wear":))))
Have a wonderful weekend!!!!
God Bless,
Diane
She is an absolute hoot! I love her winter attire!
Such a charming sweetie! I love especially the photo where she sits by the window and smiles to you!
This brought back great memories of my niece Lauren when she was little. I lived with her and her mom from 2-5...our neighbors used to say she was either naked or in a tutu:)
She's in college now and wears clothes daily:)
Amelia's 3s were VERY challenging. I called them "The Thrashing Threes" but really if that's the worst of it I'll be very blessed.
Beautiful colorful photos and your model is so cute!
I love these photos! I'm curious what kind of camera & lens you shoot with. Your photos are pin sharp and the colors are awesome!!
Denene,
I shoot with a Canon 5d Mark iii and I have a few lenses that I interchangeably use. I usually label my posts at the bottom and include the lens that was used for each session. In my bag I have a 35mm f1.4, a 50mm f1.2, an 85mm f1.2, a 100mm f2.8 Macro, and a 70-200 f2.8. If you have any other questions, just let me know. I am happy to help!
thanks information
